Print Product images and planning.
I decided to take some images to start creating posters and magazine covers. I have edited them to add effects and to make the genre easier to identify. I will re take some of these images to get higher quality but i also might use these as well.

Taglines -
I've noticed from research, i need to have a catchy tagline which helps show what the film is about. These are my idea's:
-The future starts today, not tomorrow.
-Would you read into the future?
-Control your own destiny or someone else will.
-The future ain't what it used to be.
-The future can influences the present, so watch out.
-If you do not think about your future, you cannot have one.
-Only you can control your future
-Future is that little thing no one should know about.
-You'll never regret reading a book till now.

Film Title
For all my print products, i will use the same font and colours. I want it to relate to a book in some way, I've looked at fonts that have a handwritten effect, typewriter effect and others. These are the ones i like the most.

Key Scene 2
Outline -
My next key scene will be based around when Esther has just got beaten up by her boyfriend, and it will be a montage of shots of her doing different things. Example: crying, feeling distressed, trying to cover up her bruises. This should last about a minute, until she has finally covered it all up and goes to meet Gemma.

LA- Esther shutting the door and slides down the door.
LS - Esther walking into her room crying.

LS - Moving around, stressed out. running hands through hair.
OSS - Getting make-up out.
MCU - Esther trying to put make-up on, but cant cover it and throws make up.
ELS - Esther sliding down the wall crying
Planning for filming -
Date: Wednesday 19th November.
Time: 4PM - 6PM
Location: Inside my house.
Characters and Actors: Georgia Waldron Playing Esther.
Costumes: Ripped top, Black Leggings.
Make-up: Bruises on face and body that is revealed. Run down her face as she has been crying.
Creating the bruised effect:
I looked at some youtube tutorials to see the key things you need to make someones face look bloody and bruised.
This video was really useful as it helped me understand how to blend the different colour to make a nasty bruised effect on the skin.
This video was also really useful as it showed me how a bruise would look on an eye, and where the lighter and dark parts of her face.
Products used: On the youtube tutorials they use expensive face paint with all the correct colour, and i don't have that so I'm going to use eye shadow's and lipsticks to get the effect. However i don't think this will make a difference as i have different shades of red, browns and purples which if i blend together and use in the correct way, like how they do on the youtube tutorials, it should look good.
The result -

I think the top two look more like she has been hurt awhile ago and its healing up, but the bottom 3 look more like its just happened so I'm going to use the make-up from the bottom one.
Settings and Props: In Esther's bedroom, Low key lighting as its set at night time. Make-up removal wipes, Make- up, Mirror, Chair, Desk, Tissues.

Editing Research
So far, i have found editing my shots together really hard. Making it run smooth with a clear transition is a lot more difficult that it looks, and adding effects without making it look unprofessional is also hard. I decided i needed to do research into editing, and see where i am going wrong.

I first looked at 'KiDULTHOOD' and the sequel to it 'AdULTHOOD.' Kidulthood came out in March 2006, and is a Menhaj Hude film, It tells the story of teenagers lives in London, and focuses upon two days, and shows what they get up. It features Noel Clarke who is known for films like Star Trek and TV programs like Doctor Who, The Bill and Waking the Dead. He is also the writer of the film and plays one of the protagonists in both Kidulthood and Adulthood.

Kidulthood isn't a big blockbuster film, with only a budget of £600,000 and a backed by an unknown production company called Stealth Films, and due to little money the equipment available wasn't a high tech and professional like what big conglomerate company's like 20th Century Fox could get. However despite all this it still made £100,056 in the opening week and is still selling in shops and online in 2014. People say what made Kidulthood different to all the others was its clever camera work and editing, and capturing the social realism of the film. After watching both films, i completely agree with this.
They created a film that showed all aspect of teenage life from the bullies to the people getting bullied, and shows POV shots. Which I think is one of the clever camera work which makes this film so good.
From 0:57 to 1:25 is where the POV shots are at there best. Its from Katie's point of view.
This clip is a big part of the film, and plays a massive role in the rest of the story.
The reason i like this clip, is because of the jump cuts, passing through time before she kills herself. It has dietetic sound over the top, which also brings an atmosphere to the clip as the words "Just try and stay positive" repeats, which contrasts with what she is doing. There is also effects on the shots, adding a more blurred effect, which is showing the audience that she is feeling uneasy. Also the use of short shots added into a montage which go on for about a minute, show how quick her decision was to kill herself and how she is preparing for that and how quickly her life could be over.
The reason why i chose this specific clip was because i want to try and do something like this with the camera and editing for when Esther gets beaten up by her boyfriend, and how upset she isn't, and showing all different aspects from her being upset to her trying to cover up the bruises.

First Key scene Filming/Editing
This is the first bit of filming i have done, and also the first time editing to make the scene come together.
This is what i filmed edited together to make a small scene. I wont use a lot of the clip as i think it looks cheesy and unprofessional. However i think some shots will look good together and i will edit differently too see what works. I might re-film the start as i really don't like how they look when they are laughing as it doesn't work. But i will use some of this for my official trailer. I think the main problem with this is that the shots are too short, and look jumpy which i don't like, i need to improve this and make it flow.
I've started editing different shots together to see how it looks and works. I think this one looks good and is the type of thing i would use for my trailer. I added a vignette effect on the shots and added fast forward on clips except for when the book falls. I added slow motion, to have an instant change to the clip, to add a weird look to it. I think this is effective.
This is the result after editing.
I really like the use of sound here, except i think the sound of the book dropping doesn't work. so i think i will change or remove it. I also want to try it slowed down and include some more clips. But i like it without the sound as it adds more of a sense of mystery which i want to include in my film and trailer however but i might try it with a voice over on top, too see if that works, but not of them talking about the find the book, but Esther saying "imagine if you found a book, and it was a book about your entire life. Would you read it? " Like what i say in my pitch.
